This beautifully produced book is by Marek Skubisz, the Curator of the Weiliczka Museum, part of the famous salt mine near Krakow.

In the huge mine, which dates back to the 1200s, are samples of rope dating back to the 1400s, as well large ropemaking machines. Everything is preserved by the mine's very low humidity. 

Marek has assembled a wide-ranging collection of images, drawings and diagrams of various aspects of ropemaking through the centuries.

IGKT has made this book available as a public service to people outside the EU, as compliment to the book's quality. The price is solely by printing and distribution costs - neither the museum nor IGKT make a profit from it.
