Holding up your trousers
« on: November 04, 2021, 06:48:44 AM »
Came across this the other day. Over the years there have bee a couple threads about knots that can be used to keep trousers up, one of which was suggested by yours truly, based on a gleipner. This one seems to be an adaptation on the eskimo bowline, although in the second video he calls it is a sheet bend. It seems to work quite well.

Nice find.  Both links are the same, though, so there's no "second" video.

Hi James,

Appears that there could be a quite a few uses for that one.

Tying a bedroll, bundling newspapers for recycling etc.

I am definitely going to have a play with that one, and possibly add it to the old knotting tool box...assuming I can remember it!

Cheers
Greg

This one seems to be an adaptation on the eskimo bowline,
although in the second video he calls it is a sheet bend.
... of the Lapp bend, slipped; which is a reverse sheet bend.

His slick working comes in part from the material.

Thanks,
(-;

ps: coming on (for me, at least), after this video,
was this one, which I found interesting:

Thanks for that. The second link has been corrected.
