Lengthwise expansion of 4L THK?
« on: April 27, 2020, 03:40:56 AM »
Just trying to shortcut my book research: Is there a formulaic method of expanding a 4L THK length-wise (bight-wise).  I probably have most of the books if there's a quick page reference.  8)  Thanks, guys.

I don't think you can add bights once the knot has 4 leads the way you can add bights with a 3 lead Turks Head.  You can add bights when it is a 2 lead knot, before you expand it into a 4 lead knot, but once you are over 3 leads, there is no easy way to add bights without also adding leads.

Interesting chart, Groundline.  Is it just for validation or can it be used somehow for construction?

Until I learn more about expansion techniques I'll just cheat with http://freakinsweetapps.com/knots/knotgrid/advanced.html to print out guides.   ;D

The chart tells you what you can and can't do.

Knotgrid shows you how.
