Hello, and Looking for a Paracord Loop that Keeps its Shape

Howdy,
I'm Johnny.

I like knots.  Mostly use paracord.  Not sure when it became an obsession.  It's a double edged sword sometimes.  I'm out and need to lash something or tie a hitch and I'm like, "Hmmm...there's about 14 ways I could do this....."


Anywho.....

So I have a lot of stuff, flashlights, box cutters, hammer lanyards, etc. etc.  And I'm usually unsatisfied with the loops, as I like to hook a lot of this stuff to, well, hooks, peg board thingies.

Maybe the pics, if I'm allowed to post pics on 1st post, will elaborate, but looking for a loop that's almost a circle.

Now I'm using paracord 550 most of the time, so I don't expect a HUGE loop to keep shape, but say the size of a small keychain carabiner.

Best I could come up with is the Broach Knot/Loop.  But even though it's an improvement, it doesn't hold that roundness very well. 

again, paracord, not  a lasso, but any ideas?

As Dan notes, the Honda Loop has circularity as its claim to fame, but also a circle can be had with many common end-to-end bends in your application.  There may be no need of a third part of line as seen in end loop specimens.  Maybe leave the tail off the Q and use the O, so to speak.

You can use the knot of your choice to join the ends at the top.   Here I used a single version of the fisherman's knot

I?ve used polyurethane to waterproof 550 paracord in the past on some projects and it stiffens up the cord pretty well in the process (but perhaps not as good as lariat rope).  Maybe if you stiffen your cord with something like polyurethane, some of the suggested loops previously mentioned will hold their round shapes better and will work for you.
My vote is for something like the double fisherman.  I?ve used this with paracord on tent tie-outs and they seem to hold a round shape pretty well (probably due to the number of turns in forming the knot a third of the way around holding the shape open).

Never tried polyurethane, but interesting idea.  I HAVE used Minwax Wood Hardener on throwing knives where the handles have been wrapped in paracord.  That stuff works great, I was throwing knives and cutting the paracord without it on other knives.

Fun tip:  one of the very best grip wraps for a machete or hatchet or tomahawk, etc.  has been a jute twine whipping wrap.  Torch off small strands then add that Wood Hardener.

But think that the Honda Knot, minus threading the long end through to lasso anything, is REALLY good if I have just a single cord to use, and the double fisherman's if I have 2 ends.

i caught that, just never heard of a single version. is there a link?  I could be overthinking it.

Oh I know that knot, I mean the one below that but before the BIG loop. Look almost like a hangmna's noose.  But don't worry about it, ha.
