Spherical knot covering in two colors?
« on: December 09, 2018, 01:47:45 PM »
Help needed!
I am trying to find a spherical knot covering that allows me to cover the two hemispheres in different colors.

Suggestions?
Or even better: Instructions?

Hello Lasse.

This came to mind immediately> https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/pineapple/family-of-interwoven-3-lead-4-bight-th-knots-tutor-t2020.html

Basically two different colored Turks Head knots interwoven at the edge bights. It will be fun figuring out which THK's to use according to what size core you'll use.
Please post a picture when completed.

I make cat toys by covering a round bell (about 16-18 mm diameter) with a knot. I often tie the knot in colors & patterns reminding of national flags. A standard Pineapple in 2 or 3 colors works for a lot of flags (like the Nordic/Scandinavian), but not all. For example Ukraine has one blue half and a yellow half.

I'm doing my best to work the difficulties out.
