Tie Bowline On A Bight around a fixed object
« on: April 07, 2018, 01:55:12 AM »
I am trying to find a way of tying a Bowline On A Bight around a fixed object (such as a metal loop) such that the 2 loops of the knot are secured around the object. However, the object itself obstructs the completion of the knot. I am wondering whether there is an alternative method of tying the knot so as to achieve this outcome.

Its easily done in the same way that climbers tie #1047 Figure 8 eye knot into their harness.

You start with the common #1010 Bowline and then continue by re-threading / re-weaving the tail to create the final #1080 Bowline on a bight.
