Shop Made Marlinspike and FID
« on: March 26, 2017, 04:45:52 PM »

As I am new to the forum I thought I would introduce myself.  My only professional knot experience comes from early in my Army career when I did some military mountaineering with old school twisted rope.  I have always been interested in decorative knotting so recently decided to try my hand.  I also do some woodworking.  I often make hand tools to support that hobby so I thought I would make some for knot work.  Here are a couple of them.  Thank you.

Hi 4yanks

In your army experience did you ever encounter using a sheepshank knot in a rappelling application?

Your hand made fid and spike look fantastic.  You should post some pictures with some things you've made with them :)
