is the Barrel Hitch & Truckers hitch the correct knots
« on: October 20, 2016, 10:39:07 AM »
Hello, I have a problem I'm trying to solve and want to know what the best solution.  I roller skate and my foot keeps slipping forward and my heel raises, yes the boot is too big. my solution was to use some 550 paracord and tie it on the outside of my boot.  I tied a barrel hitch that went across my ankle and the back of the heel of the boot.  I can pull this tight and it works, my foot stays back and the heel doesn't raise up.  My problem is how to tie it off.  I need some type of a slip knot so I can pull it real tight but I don't want the knot to loosen and it needs to be easy to take off.  I was trying to tie a trucker hitch but I can't figure how to do this or if this is correct.

My question, are these two knots the correct ones or is there something better.  I can't tie it tight enough.

Thanks
P.S. I'm new at tying knots and don't know how to tie any but want to learn.
