Ylvis has just released a song about knots!

You guys have maybe heard of a Norwegian duo called Ylvis? The two brothers which came up with the "The Fox" or "What Does The Fox Say"?

Now they have released a new song called "The Truckers Hitch". They mention a lot of other knots, the intended use of the Truckers Hitch, what problems they have with it and their admiration of the knot.

The video within the video also exists Trucker's Hitch by Nelu Băescu.  He also appears to be a singer, but the video is posted in a channel by itself, so I'm guessing that it's a collaboration between the 2 bands.

Their "What Does the Fox Say" will overshadow this song.  They remind me of the rock group Presidents of the United States of America (of "Peaches" fame) with their odd-topic songs.  The Trucker's Hitch seems to be just a crutch for the song, with little real information given, but it might spur the average listener to look it up.

Much 'net chatter about the song/video.  See, this would be a good opportunity for the guild to do some newsjacking.  Publish a nice how-to for the trucker's knot.  Praise Ylvis for their perspicacity or criticize them for their choice for the stated application

Knot how-to sites are reported getting "flooded" due to the song.  Any uptick in ours?

This article links out to various instructional sites.  Even if we had the Trucker's hitch in the knot charts, the big PDF is not link-friendly (or search friendly).

The average number of visits to the Trucker's hitch article on EN Wikipedia last month was about 50-60/day.  The peak on 2014-09-18 was 2 orders of magnitude above that.
