William U. Walton

WALTON, William U. Of Hingham, June 11, 2010. Bill and his beloved wife Althea (Volland) have made many homes over the years, including Plymouth, Needham, Nairobi, Kenya and Enugu, Nigeria. Bill was a teacher and science educator locally at MIT and Education Development Center, as well as at Science Museum of VA, Exploratorium in San Francisco, Webster College, Rochester Junior College and Wooster College. He was an Eagle Scout and Scoutmaster, member of the International Guild of Knot Tyers and North American Sundial Society and volunteer at Plimouth Plantation and Plymouth Public Library. Bill leaves sons, Ralph W. Walton, Dale W. Walton and his wife Atchara, daughter, Susan (Sarah) Walton and her husband John Mullen, his grandchildren Wharit and Warren Walton and Brian and Katy Mullen, his sister Charlotte Franklin and her family and the families of his deceased brothers Thomas S. Walton and John F. Walton. A Celebration of his Life will be held June 26 at 2 p.m. Sandwich Friends Meeting, 6 Quaker Meeting Rd., E. Sandwich, www.Capecodquakers.org. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Friends Service Committee, www.afsc.org or to Westlake Troop 8 Foundation, contact Valkam@comcast.net.
