Fixed Eye - slipped
« on: August 17, 2008, 11:14:51 PM »
This is a lacing i've used many times in practical knotting in medium duty tie downs, with 1/4 -1/2" line.  It can be elusive to capture, because ya have to set it just right, jamming the hitch into the slipped round turn.  i kinda dress it, then pull the eye against the bight of the slip; making like a lop-sided bow tie to realign parts, then put into service pulling from the eye to the working.  When unloaded, it can be released with a tug to the bitter end.  If it hangs, break at where the 'hitch' seats into the slipped round turn, then pull tail/ bitters.
