(NB: "Pruisic" isn't in Ashley, yes, but it should be 'Prusik',
also not verbally or functionally in ABOK , but IIRC,
the strcuture IS present, as a hitch for a sling in raising spars
(don't have the book at hand, but IIRC in the 2nnn range).)

Quite right - the Prusik is ABOK #1763 (the Klemheist is illustrated as #1762 though again not named).

Although this can get debatable vis-a-vis what IS a *knot*? issues:
i.e., although the geometry is present, Ashley gives no hint really of the
use of ascending a rope--of grip & release & re-grip ... repetition (arguably
an even greater gulf between the Crossing Knot and Mezzo Barcaiolo ("Munter")
hitch workings. --just to highlight how the What is ...? issue can have
some effect.
