Christmas 2018 saw two string-related presents from thoughtful family members! As I had never seen them before, I thought others might be interested. They are:
Cat's Cradle and Knot So Fast
The first is Cat’s Cradle, (£3.99) made by House of Marbles. The game consists of a loop of pink paracord and a six-page fold-out of instructions on how to make five different patterns. The packaging is attractive, but I would have liked a bit more background to the origin of, and sources for, each of the patterns. Also, I found the instructions difficult to follow – it is possible that this sort of activity is much easier when watching someone else do it? I seem to remember Cat’s Cradles being a two-person activity, but suppose that this would have been even more difficult to illustrate!
