Chris King was born in Maine, USA in 1958. He has been tying knots since being introduced to macramé in a high school art class. Chris graduated from MIT in 1982 with a B. S. in Materials Science & Engineering, specializing in glass and ceramics. He began his career developing superconducting wire, cable and high magnetic field coils for high energy physics, fusion, medical imaging and naval applications. More recently, Chris has been making large macramé pieces from fishing ropes and nets found abandoned and washed up at the beach. He joined IGKT in 2016 after researching various knots online and has enjoyed reading about the broad range of membership projects. Chris lives in Massachusetts with his lovely wife, Patricia.
