2019 IGKT Spring Symposium and AGM - 'Jurassic 19'

nothe forte

The IGKT Dorset Branch invite you to ‘Jurassic 19’ Weymouth, Dorset UK 9-12th May 2019

Weymouth is a Georgian town in the centre of the Jurassic Coast region of Dorset and East Devon, famous for fossils and dinosaur remains.

The venue will be the Nothe Fort, a defensive structure built in the 19th century to protect the strategic port of Weymouth. The fort is located on a hill at the entrance to Weymouth harbour. It contains many displays of coastal defences, massive gun emplacements and weaponry, and has stunning views of the coast. The fort is constructed on three levels with full stairs and lift access, and is designed to entertain all age groups.

The Nothe Fort is located at the end of Barrack Road, Weymouth, Dorset DT4 8UF. Car parking is immediately adjacent to the site (all day charge £6). There is additional parking in adjacent Weymouth centre (10min walk). Evening parking in Weymouth is free. Entry to the Fort is free to IGKT attendees throughout the event.
Rail: Weymouth Station (2 hrs from London Waterloo) is a 20min walk from the fort.
Air: Regional airports - Southampton, Exeter, Bristol and Bournemouth, all linked to Weymouth by rail.

Accommodation – As a premier British holiday resort, Weymouth can provide accommodation to suit all needs.
