I made a video! Have you ever seen a knot like this
« on: November 15, 2018, 06:27:53 AM »
Hello friends,

This is my 1st post. I've spent a long time searching the interwebs, books, and discovered this forum. I'm looking for a 2 string quick release knot.
I made a video to illustrate. I'm our community of expertise can help.

Thank you!

Step 1:  With your release line, tie a small sling around the object using the Trigger Bend.

Step 2:  With the main rope, tie into the sling line with a bowline.

You may want to share why you need to have two different lines.

Hello KnotDiscovery,

Welcome to the IGKT Forum and well done for creating and posting a video of your question - you should put a tutorial on here on how to make and post videos.

This might seem crazy, but I just watched your video, yet at the end of it, I am failing to understand what it is you are asking - what was wrong with the first knot you demonstrated?  Why do you need two or three cords?

Hi KnotDiscovery and welcome.

How about something like slipping a simple bend such as a slipped sheet bend? Although there are many others to try, that would be my first try.
Hope that gives you some inspiration.
