How to Make a Double (2-Strand) Diamond Knot by TIAT

The Double (2-Strand) Diamond Knot has long frustrated and
confused knot tyers. Leading most to abandon attempts at tying
this substantial and elegant knot.



Be that as it was, my hope is that the following video alleviates
the confusions caused by books and (other) presentations. Put
simply, I show you clear well-paced instructions for how to tie the
knot.

Nice video JD - this is an easy knot to tie singly but for many it's confusing to double. When I remember (memory goes with age as you'll find out one day!) I've known the diamond & double diamond since Dan Callahan (gone now) from Alaska taught it to me in 2000.  But, I must say this is one of the best tutorial I've seen.  It's GREAT (as are all our videos!).

Out of curiosity, are the double diamond knot and the double knife lanyard knot one and the same? I learned this knot under the name of double knife lanyard, (or at least I'm pretty sure it's the same.) but could tell for sure.

Yes - same knot. Also known as the (double) bosun's whistle knot.
