plafond knot variation challenge

There's a moral grey line between links to something vs downloading and reposting. Don't feel embarrassed. I actually questioned posting the direct link, but since the forum is free to join (if difficult for the Chinese illiterate)...
That you found it at all is amazing.
That community over there is ... wow. I found that site before and poked around, but being illiterate... :( You have more focus and determination than I. :)
Have you found an RSS feed to the site? With a linear feed and Google Reader providing autotranslate functions on demand one might be able to slog through new additions to the site and keep up...
Of course, there's also the idea of becoming literate enough to read it directly. 8)

OK, just to verify what was going on, I decided to follow instructions with string.
Starting with a nicely laid out plafond (second set down from this page http://hjing.blog.163.com/blog/static/24504395200963061311699/), I tied what is definitely a plafond, even if it hasn't been completely tidied up:
Then I decided to go for the single version from this set:
because it's a beautiful picture all on it's own, but looks more complicated than the known plafond layout.
Tracing through the diagram and tying the knot I got this:
which, while definitely related to plafond knots has a doubled centre (and single frame).
So if this
is a double plafond then that should be a centre doubled plafond...
In any case, what we had hoped was the instructions for a triple plafond is actually the instructions for a triple, centre doubled plafond.
Just to add to the fun, while searching for some of the above images, I found another plafond variant

The site is truly amazing. I should have noticed the over-two pattern in the center of the design. I guess we're almost there...I'll keep looking...and the doubled center looks good on it's own).
I agree with your "wow" about their community.
I haven't found an RSS feed for zhongguojie.org. My Chinese literacy is only as good as the Google Translate extension for the Chrome web browser (I haven't explored other combinations of plug-ins/browsers).
TIP (to all): Use Google Translate (or your favorite translation service) to obtain the Chinese text for your Forum Search.
As KnotMe and others, have indicated before, the English translation of what the Chinese call the Plafond knot is the Caisson Ceiling Knot
Caisson Ceiling knot - 藻井结
Double Caisson Ceiling Knot - 双藻井结
Long Caisson Ceiling Knot - 长藻井结 (this led me, indirectly, to the link I posted)
I've noticed that the "cassion" family is quite large...must investigate further.
