Hasty Repair - It's not perfect, but I rigged it so it would last a while longer

Food - Cook Candy until it ropes.
Long flexible LED lights - called rope lights or light rope.
Boxing strategy - Rope-a-dope (Term coined by Mohammed Ali after he let the other boxer (George Foreman) wear himself out by lying on the ropes.)
Heavy punishment - If they catch him with the drugs he'll face the rope.
A string of things - A rope of onions, a rope of pearls, a rope of taffy.
Segregation, partition, divide off - the area was roped off, the animals were roped in.
Hygiene - soap on a rope.

Birds - Either of two migratory sandpipers; The Red knot (Calidris Canutus) or The Great Knot (Calidris Tenuirostris) that breed in Arctic regions.
Trees - A knot is a hard place or lump, especially on a tree, at a point from which a stem or branch grows.
Medical - A protuberant growth or swelling in tissue: a knot in a gland, knots under the skin.
Feeling of tightness - I had a knot of fear in my stomach.
Unit of Speed - 1 knot = 1.852mph; the vessel was steaming along at 16 knots (29.6mph).
Drugged - after analysis it was established that they had laced his drink.
Tight cluster of people - a knot of people.
