Some of you may remember my announcement in May that Jeff and I were planning a year travelling around Australia. Well it's finally going to happen. We leave on 27 August for Sydney. We'll be spending a couple of days with my Aunt who lives a few miles north of Sydney, and then we head up the coast to Newcastle where we understand that we should be able to find a suitable motorhome for our trip. Then we'll head across to Darwin - we want to be able to 'do' Darwin and Kakadu before 'The Wet' arrives in October. Then we should be able to continue at a more leisurely pace across to Western Australia and down the west coast. Jeff is hoping to meet a few knotty people while we're in Oz, and we're certainly aiming at getting over to Tasmania for the Wooden Boat Show in February.
Glenys will be taking over from me very soon although I'll still be available until 26th. Be nice to her, and to Mel, you lot, and don't give either of them any hassle, OK?

If anyone is interested in following our progress, Mel has created a neat website for us with a blog. I've also added a Google Map to plot our travels. Hopefully we'll be able to get on the Internet fairly regularly so that I can update both blog and map.
Best wishes
